ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE WATER METERING SYSTEM

The County of Amherst is seeking a qualified contractor to design, supply, and implement an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for its water distribution system. This project will replace legacy water meters with smart meters, establish a reliable communications network, and provide a data management platform for real‑time usage monitoring, billing, and leak detection. The scope includes hardware procurement, installation, software integration, training, and ongoing support. • Provide, install, and commission smart water meters throughout the county’s water network. • Design and deploy a secure, two‑way communications system (RF, cellular, or PLC) linking meters to a central data hub. • Implement a data acquisition and analytics platform for meter reading, billing, and water loss reduction. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards for water utilities. • Deliver training for county staff and offer post‑implementation technical support.
