Insurance Brokerage Services

The County of Ottawa, on behalf of the Ottawa County Michigan Insurance Authority, is seeking proposals from qualified professionals to provide insurance agency and brokerage services. The selected broker will be responsible for securing replacement coverage for policies expiring during the contract term, subject to final approval by the Authority. Key responsibilities include: • Developing a thorough understanding of the Insurance Authority, County, and Building Authority structure, operations, and exposures • Collaborating with the Authority to develop and implement a renewal marketing strategy • Identifying suitable programs, products, and insurers that meet the Authority’s needs • Providing annual loss runs for each coverage line • Reviewing and analyzing quotes and presenting a written report to the Authority • Securing and binding all coverage accepted by the County The ideal candidate will have experience working with public entities, self-insured programs, and retention/deductibles of $250,000 or more. They will also have a minimum annual commercial lines premium volume of $5,000,000 and at least 10 years of commercial insurance experience.
