Strategic Real Estate & Infrastructure Broker Services

The State of Iowa is seeking a real estate and infrastructure broker to assist with a comprehensive statewide inventory and needs analysis of all state-owned real estate, leased facilities, and other property-related ventures. The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate the current utilization of state assets and identify properties that are underused, obsolete, or no longer aligned with the state’s core mission. The selected broker will provide strategic real estate and infrastructure services to help the state make informed decisions about its properties. Key services may include property sales, transfers to local governments, or the establishment of public-private management agreements. The scope of work includes: • Conducting a comprehensive inventory of state-owned real estate and leased facilities • Analyzing the current utilization of state assets and identifying properties that are underused or no longer aligned with the state’s core mission • Providing strategic real estate and infrastructure services to support the state’s decision-making process • Assisting with property sales, transfers, or public-private management agreements • Developing and implementing a plan to eliminate ongoing maintenance liabilities, reduce risk exposure, and reallocate resources to higher-priority needs
