Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) System

The Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College is seeking bids for a Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) system for the Open-jet wind lab. The system should be a complete, integrated solution capable of delivering high-quality, quantitative velocity measurements and flow visualizations under large-scale and open-environment wind testing conditions. The system must be able to operate reliably under ambient light exposure and maintain high measurement fidelity in high-speed turbulent flows. • The system should be capable of providing accurate and repeatable measurements of instantaneous and time-averaged velocity fields, turbulence statistics, and other flow quantities. • The system must have a minimum field of view of 1.0 m × 1.0 m, a maximum vector spacing of 2 mm, and a minimum sampling rate of 625 Hz. • The system should include data acquisition software, export compatibility of raw data in formats readable by MATLAB, Python, and Tecplot, and suitable hardware capabilities to acquire and transmit data without latency problems. • The system must comply with laser safety standards, have suitable shielding and safety enclosures, and be suitable for laboratory and open-environment operations.
