Albany, N.Y.Issued: October 26, 2026
The Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) carrying out federal requirements for cooperative transportation planning and programming within the metropolitan area that includes Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties, except the Town of Moreau and the Village of South Glens Falls. The Transportation Council is requesting expressions of interest (REI) from qualified firms or individuals to undertake the Town of Stillwater County Route 76 Corridor Study.
The purpose of the County Route 76 Corridor study is to identify potential safety improvements, mobility improvements, shared-use path and pedestrian enhancements, and examine the potential for transit and microtransit integration on the corridor. This area has been identified by Town of Stillwater staff as an area for anticipated growth and, in addition, community members have expressed interest in safer walking and biking, local connections, and more accessible routes in the study area.
The study is being funded by the Transportation Council and the Town of Stillwater through the Transportation Council’s Unified Planning Work Program. The study has a fixed budget of $100,000 for consultant services. The Transportation Council, on behalf of the Town, will administer the consultant contract and will jointly manage the study with the Town. The Transportation Council and the Town would like to see this study completed within twelve (12) months of the date of contract execution.
