Description

The Martha's Vineyard Commission is seeking proposals from qualified entities to provide design, construction, and maintenance services for permanent traffic counter stations across the island. The selected contractor will be responsible for installation, acquisition of permits, maintenance, and backend work necessary to give the MVC access to recorded data. The project involves installing up to fourteen permanent count locations, and the contractor must ensure that the counters are placed on state, county, or local rights-of-way and clearly marked or flagged. The project requires the collection of traffic data using 4 length-based classification types and includes vehicle volume and speed as an attribute. • The contractor must provide a cost estimate for the count stations that itemizes costs along with the number of anticipated units needed for equipment. • The contractor must have experience with traffic counter design, installation, permitting, and maintenance. • The contractor must provide a complete summary of experience, qualifications, and capabilities. • The contractor must identify other support persons or entities to be used in the discharge of the chosen respondent’s obligations under the contract. • The contractor must provide a list of references with names of contacts, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this project is estimated to be between $200,000 and $500,000. This estimate is based on the scope of work, which includes the design, construction, and maintenance of up to fourteen permanent traffic counter stations. The cost of equipment, installation, and maintenance will be significant, and the contractor must also provide a cost estimate that includes variables and unknowns that may impact the project costs. The MVC's budget for the project is not specified, but based on similar projects, the estimated budget range is reasonable. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the project, the number of locations, and the type of equipment used.
