The City of Winston-Salem is seeking Letters of Interest from qualified individuals or organizations to lease and operate a city-owned hydroponics/greenhouse facility. The facility is approximately 108’x60’ and began operating in 2022. The selected lessee will be responsible for independently managing the facility and aligning its use with community goals, such as improving access to healthy food, supporting education, and developing workforce pipelines. Key points to consider: • The facility is offered in as-is condition, and the City will not make any repairs or upgrades prior to the lease. • The lessee will be solely responsible for all maintenance, repairs, and operations. • The City is flexible and open to proposals that clearly demonstrate value to the community and responsible building use. • A mandatory site visit is required, and appointments can be scheduled with Ms. Andy Szabat. • The City reserves the right to either issue a formal Request for Proposals (RFP) or enter negotiations directly with a respondent deemed to be in the best interest of the community.
