The City and Borough of Juneau is seeking a vendor to provide a turnkey project for new radios capable of P25 VHF & 700/800 MHz Digital Trunked that meet current and future communication needs for all public safety. The project includes providing equipment, accessories, and services to ensure reliable and functional communication. Key requirements include providing small, lightweight, and easy-to-operate radios with electrically shortened antenna configurations, long battery life, and available accessories for in-field battery charging. The vendor must also ensure that the radios integrate with the existing system, provide encrypted transmission functionality, and offer voice encryption with 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption. The pricing proposal will be evaluated based on the cost of the equipment and services provided.
