26-013 Strategic Communication and Public Affairs Consultant

The City of Rialto is seeking a Strategic Communication and Public Affairs Consultant to provide comprehensive expertise in communications, public relations, and community engagement. The Consultant will support the City in promoting transparency, enhancing public trust, managing media relations, and advancing City initiatives through effective messaging and strategic communication plans. Key responsibilities include developing a strategic communication plan, providing monthly social media posts and press releases, and assisting with community engagement and outreach. • Develop and maintain a 12-month calendar for City communications and a related implementation plan • Develop communication campaigns to help launch new City initiatives • Advise department’s social media managers on the use of department’s social media platforms • Develop content for the City’s website and website generated e-notifications and messaging • Develop communication campaigns to help launch new City initiatives • Review Council Agendas and Meetings, City website, and local news for opportunities for information sharing with the public • Provide additional media assistance, including photography services, video production services, and graphic design support
