The City of College Park, Maryland, is seeking a qualified consulting firm to conduct a comprehensive Public Safety Services Study. The consultant will evaluate existing policing arrangements, analyze crime and service data, assess costs and staffing models, explore alternative service delivery options (including a municipal police department, hybrid models, and non‑policing strategies), and develop implementation timelines and cost estimates. Deliverables include data request lists, stakeholder engagement summaries, comparative analyses of regional policing models, cost summaries, legal/compliance assessments, interim and final reports, and a public presentation of findings. The study is intended to inform City Council’s decisions on whether to maintain, modify, expand, or replace current public safety arrangements. The project is expected to be completed by late summer 2027.
