Description

NASA is seeking capabilities and qualifications to support the sustained operation, maintenance, and data delivery of eight HyperNav hyperspectral radiometric systems for the PACE mission’s vicarious calibration. The work includes rotating 60‑day deployments at three sites (Hawaii, Mo’orea, Puerto Rico), pre‑ and post‑deployment laboratory calibrations, daily data processing, and open‑science reporting. The effort is intended to be a sole‑source award to Oregon State University, but other organizations may submit qualifications for potential competition. • Operate and maintain eight HyperNav systems with at least nine calibrations per year. • Conduct eight 60‑day field deployments annually across three remote locations, delivering ≥160 quality‑assured SVC observations. • Provide monthly data products, annual progress reports, and publicly release all software/code under open‑source licenses, complying with NASA’s IT, security, and records‑management policies.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $12,000,000

No dollar amount is disclosed. Based on NASA’s typical funding for multi‑year, multi‑system scientific operations (including hardware maintenance, travel to three sites, data processing infrastructure, and personnel), a reasonable ballpark is roughly $5 million to $12 million for a one‑year fixed‑price contract. Factors influencing the range include the number of deployments, calibration frequency, travel costs, and the requirement to release all software publicly.
