NRCS- National Water and Climate Center (NWCC) SCAN Maintenance

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking a contractor to provide maintenance services for the National Water and Climate Center (NWCC) Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN). The contractor will be responsible for furnishing personnel, supplies, materials, and incidentals necessary to maintain the SCAN network, which consists of over 200 stations providing data in near real-time. The contractor will need to have experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic equipment, as well as installing and maintaining Campbell Scientific dataloggers, soil moisture probes, telemetry, and weather station instrumentation. The work will take place in various locations throughout the United States, and the contractor will need to have access to a 4-wheel drive vehicle. • The contractor will be required to provide Field Technicians for continued maintenance of the NRCS SCAN network. • The Field Technician shall have ten years of experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment in the field. • The Field Technician shall have ten years of field experience with installation, maintenance and repair of Campbell Scientific dataloggers, soil moisture probes, telemetry, and weather station instrumentation. • The contractor shall submit a well-defined approach to successfully accomplish the work described in the statement of work. • The contractor shall describe how they currently have the capacity and how they plan to meet production deadlines and schedules of the contract.
