RFP FOR ARCHITECT AND ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR MUSEUM

The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (CTSI) is seeking a qualified Architecture and Engineering firm to design a new museum building. The museum will serve as a cultural education space for the Tribal Community and will house exhibits, collections, office, and cultural education spaces. The design must meet museum industry standards for preserving and protecting historical artifacts, and must be resilient to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and high winds. The project includes the design of a 40,000 square foot museum, with a LEED Silver certification or higher, and must incorporate sustainable design and energy efficiency. • The museum will have a collections room, archives room, exhibit prep, exhibit storage, and other spaces. • The design must include advanced technology for exhibitions, building management, security, and visitor services. • The museum must be designed to withstand power outages and other system emergencies. • The project must achieve minimum LEED Silver certification and incorporate renewable energy sources where feasible. • The design must include a building management system, security systems, and data/telecommunications infrastructure. • The museum must have a stable environment for artifact preservation, with temperature and relative humidity controls. • The design must include a parking lot, receiving area, and event space.
