Back-up Power Generation System Services and Repairs

The City of Raleigh is seeking a qualified contractor to provide on-call emergency and scheduled repair services for backup power generation systems at various municipal facilities, including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and storage tank sites. The contractor will be responsible for providing timely, reliable, and expert-level services, including diagnosis and repair of diesel and natural gas generator units, generator control and monitoring panels, automatic transfer switches, and other related systems. The contract will be for a period of up to 5 years, and the City reserves the right to enter into one or more contracts with firms based on price, location of services, hours of operation, and/or availability of services with minimum delay. Some key aspects of the job include: • Providing 24/7/365 on-call support for generator-related emergencies • Responding to emergency service requests within two hours and to non-emergency requests within 24 hours • Performing scheduled repair services, including replacing worn or failed components and refurbishing control boards • Providing system diagnostics and root cause analysis for repair recommendations • Coordinating with City staff to ensure safety and operational continuity The City is looking for a contractor with experience in similar projects, a strong understanding of the scope of work, and the ability to provide high-quality services in a timely and efficient manner.
