RFP #1200454 - Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center (WACC) Operator

The Montgomery County Government is seeking a qualified operator to manage the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center (WACC). The operator will be responsible for day‑to‑day venue operations, staffing, ticketing, booking, technical direction, custodial services, food & beverage, arts incubator programming, safety, security, and customer service. They must also negotiate and manage partnerships with presenters and tenants, curate diverse cultural programming, and oversee production and union‑related technical aspects. The role requires creating inclusive use policies and ensuring the facility’s financial stability while serving the community’s diverse ethnic groups. • Oversee all operational facets of a large cultural venue (staffing, ticketing, F&B, custodial, security). • Manage partnership agreements and long‑term tenant relationships. • Curate and program diverse arts, performances, and community events. • Handle production management, technical services, and union negotiations. • Develop equitable access policies and drive financial sustainability. • Submit a full proposal by Dec 15 2026 (EST).
