Quincy Traction Power Substation – Request for Qualification (X92PS03)

The MBTA is seeking qualified engineering and consulting firms to design, construct, and commission a new 3 MVA modular traction power substation (TPSS) to replace the aging Quincy Substation and support current and future Red Line power needs. The scope includes detailed design, site‑specific installation, power utility coordination, environmental compliance, commissioning of the new system, and de‑commissioning and power cut‑over of the existing facility. • Design and engineering of a modular 3 MVA substation, including civil, electrical, and control systems. • Construction management, utility coordination, and site‑specific installation on MBTA right‑of‑way and adjacent private property. • Environmental compliance, commissioning, testing, and de‑commissioning of the existing substation.
