MDAR Grant FY26- FTPA Farm Transfer Plan Assistance, Farm-Pass, FY26-27 Round 4+5

The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) is seeking responses from owners of commercial farms in Massachusetts who have identified a successor(s) to transfer the farm to and are seeking assistance to develop a farm transfer plan. The program provides guided one-on-one assistance from an assigned technical assistance provider to facilitate discussion, identify goals and actions, and develop a written Farm Transfer Plan. The plan will include information such as current farm business goals, farm management transfer plans, financial plans, and action steps for stakeholders. • The program is open to owners of land in Massachusetts used for commercial agriculture. • Applicants must have identified a successor interested in taking over farm management and obtaining the farm's assets. • The program provides technical assistance to develop a Farm Transfer Plan. • The plan will be used to summarize and document information, including goals, actions, and timelines. • The contract duration for each selected participant will be for up to one year. • The program is offered at no cost to applicants, and no direct funding will be provided.
