RFI Treatment for Girls in DJJ Custody

The Alaska Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking letters of interest from qualified vendors to conduct a comprehensive assessment and provide recommendations for improving services for young women in custody. The goal is to evaluate current conditions across DJJ girls’ facilities and develop an evidence-informed roadmap for aligning treatment policy, practice, environment, and programming with the needs of young women and staff. The scope of work includes reviewing existing curricula, conducting gender-responsive assessments, and providing recommendations for staff training and curriculum integration. Key aspects of the project include: • Reviewing existing DJJ curricula to identify strengths, gaps, and misalignments to best practices in gender-responsive treatment • Conducting gender-responsive assessments of juvenile justice facilities in Anchorage and Juneau • Conducting interviews and listening sessions with staff and youth • Providing recommendations to align curriculum with best practices • Offering options for staff training and curriculum integration • Providing a comprehensive written report of findings and recommendations
