Mather Golf Course Professional Golf Services Management

The County of Sacramento is seeking a professional golf course management company to assume responsibility for the operation of the Mather Golf Course. The selected company will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of operating programs, business plans, and budgets, as well as the provision of various services including starter services, course marshalling, pro shop operations, food and beverage services, and grounds and building maintenance. The company will also be responsible for the administration of all contract personnel, collection and accounting of revenues, and payment and accounting of expenses. The County will retain responsibility for certain aspects of the operation, including the administration of terms and conditions of the contract, monitoring of standards and specifications, and approval of expenses and capital improvements. Some key points to consider include: • The company will be required to provide a General Manager, Golf Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, and Food and Beverage Manager, all of whom must meet certain qualifications and experience requirements. • The company will be responsible for preparing an annual operating budget and submitting it to the County for approval. • The company will be required to establish a checking account and line of credit for the payment of golf course operating expenses. • The company will be responsible for monitoring adherence to the approved operating budget and obtaining prior written approval from the County for any expenses that are not included in the budget. • The company will be required to submit various reports and documents to the County, including daily summary sheets, weekly tee sheets, and monthly recaps of pro shop and food and beverage revenue.
