Pre-Qualification of Rental Inspection Services

The City of Independence, Missouri, is seeking to establish a prequalified list of rental housing inspectors to provide inspection services for the rental ready program. The selected firms will be required to furnish sufficient organization, personnel, and management staff to perform all duties and responsibilities associated with the inspection function. The contract was awarded to six companies: The Compliance Department, LLC, Cardwell & Associates, Inc., Aspen Professional Home Inspections, A-1 Rental Inspections, ATM Home Inspection, and Call Mike, LLC. The scope of work includes scheduling, notification, inspections, quality control, and reporting. • The City of Independence is implementing a rental inspection program to protect the health, safety, and welfare of residents. • The program requires rental units to be inspected and pass a basic health/safety inspection every two years. • The selected firms will be required to submit approved inspection forms electronically to the City. • The contract was awarded through a competitive bidding process, with a bid submission date of November 17, 2016.
