SHORT & LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE PLAN CARRIER

The City of Bridgeport is seeking a qualified carrier to provide a fully insured short-term and long-term disability insurance plan to its employees. The plan should duplicate the existing STD & LTD benefits and funding arrangements, and achieve maximum savings for the plans. The selected vendor will be responsible for providing administrative services, customer service, communication services, and reports to the City. The vendor should have experience in providing similar services to municipalities comparable to the City of Bridgeport. The contract will be for a term of three years with two one-year renewal options, and the vendor is expected to guarantee premiums for not less than 24 months. Some key points to consider: • The plan should cover approximately 125 employees who do not accrue sick days. • The plan is non-contributory and fully insured. • The vendor should provide a detailed scope of work, a project plan, and a summary of how quality assurance will be maintained and guaranteed. • The vendor should have a proven track record of providing similar services to municipalities comparable to the City of Bridgeport. • The City encourages Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women Business Enterprises (WBE), and City-based businesses (CBB) to submit proposals.
