Event Manager for The Boathouse at Canal Dock

The City of New Haven is seeking an Event Manager for The Boathouse at Canal Dock, a waterfront venue that hosts various events such as corporate events, conferences, and weddings. The Event Manager will be responsible for managing event-related logistics, coordinating with vendors and staff, and ensuring the smooth functioning of events. The ideal candidate will have experience in event management and logistics, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently. The contract will be for a period of one year, with a maximum budget of $70,000. • Manage event-related logistics for a variety of interior and exterior events at The Boathouse at Canal Dock • Collaborate with the Arts, Culture and Tourism Department to coordinate events • Maintain processes and systems for event tracking, financial and legal documents • Coordinate events calendar between the City, University of New Haven, and rental bookings • Work closely with vendors, support staff, and other necessary parties to ensure set-up of meeting/event rooms, adherence to schedule, and comfort of guests
