Professional Engineering Services for Buckman Direct Diversion Facility

The City of Santa Fe is seeking a qualified engineering firm to provide professional engineering services for the redesign and reconstruction of portions of the Buckman Direct Diversion Facility intake and raw water pumping facilities. The selected firm will be responsible for planning, design, permitting, budgeting, and operational support. The project aims to improve the facility's performance and operation, which has been affected by seasonal and precipitation-triggered fluctuations in sediment and turbidity conditions in the Rio Grande. The scope of work includes the design and construction of a new intake structure, sediment removal process improvements, and other related tasks. The evaluation criteria include organizational experience, organizational references, mandatory specifications, financial stability, and local preference. • The facility is a diversion and treatment plant on the Rio Grande River near Santa Fe, New Mexico. • The point of diversion is approximately 15 miles northwest of the City of Santa Fe. • The facility was intended to operate with raw water pulled from the Rio Grande diversion site, sediment removed near the diversion site, water pumped uphill, and drinking water pumped to utility providers. • The Buckman Direct Diversion Board oversees the management and operations of the facility. • The board is responsible for diverting, treating, and transmitting surface water in accordance with respective diversion allocations and delivery demands.
