Description

The Dane County Department of Human Services is seeking proposals for the provision of overflow shelter services to expand the availability of safe and warm sleeping quarters for male-identifying individuals experiencing homelessness, particularly during the coldest months of the year. The proposed shelter should be able to serve a minimum of 80 guests per night and operate from November 1 to March 31. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing basic needs navigation and resource connections, as well as coordinating with other shelters, street outreach providers, and community partners to facilitate referral and access to the overflow shelter. Some key points to consider: • The shelter location must be accessible to those experiencing homelessness and have a plan in place for obtaining support from stakeholders, including neighbors and community leaders. • The proposed shelter should have a service model and program structure that prioritizes the provision of a safe and warm space for guests and staff. • The successful applicant will be required to provide data on the number of guests served, nights of service, and other key performance indicators. • The contract will be for a period of approximately 9 months, with the possibility of renewal for up to four additional one-year terms.

$400,000 – $440,000

The budget for this opportunity is estimated to be around $440,000, which will be used to fund the provision of overflow shelter services. The actual budget may vary depending on the proposals received and the negotiations with the successful applicant. The funding will be used to cover the costs of operating the shelter, including staffing, facilities, and equipment. The budget estimation is based on the information provided in the RFP, which states that the Dane County Department of Human Services anticipates that the amount of funding available for these services is up to $440,000. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of guests served, the duration of the shelter's operation, and the level of services provided.
