Claims Adjusting Services

The City of Norfolk is seeking proposals for liability claims adjustment and related services for claims originating from the City. The selected contractor will be responsible for adjusting claims in full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations governing the administration of self-insurance. The contractor will also be expected to represent the City in all matters related to such administration and to fully perform all functions listed within the solicitation. Some of the key services include: loss investigation and claims adjustment, pursuing subrogation claims, evaluating repair estimates, and maintaining a separate electronic file for each reported claim. The contractor will also be required to provide quarterly reports and assist the City in fulfilling its Medicare beneficiary reporting obligations. Some of the key requirements for the contractor include: * Dedicate appropriate staffing to provide services * Provide loss investigation and claims adjustment services * Maintain a separate electronic file for each reported claim * Recommend claims reserves for each claim and review and update reserves on a monthly basis * Assist the City in fulfilling its Medicare beneficiary reporting obligations * Provide quarterly reports * Maintain a Hampton Roads presence that includes a claims-handling office fully staffed to meet the requirements of the City's adjustment needs
