Chief Medical Consultant

The State of Delaware Department of Labor is seeking qualified medical consultants to evaluate and adjudicate Social Security Disability (SSD) claims for the Disability Determination Services program. Selected consultants will perform initial case assessments, secondary reviews, consultative‑exam evaluations, and provide training/mentorship to DDS staff, all while adhering to strict quality and timeliness standards. Compensation is fee‑for‑service based on per‑case and per‑hour rates, with a contract term of FY 2027 and up to three optional one‑year extensions. • Perform medical and psychological reviews of SSD claim files, apply SSA regulations, and certify eligibility. • Provide orientation, SSA‑mandated training, and mentorship to DDS personnel; complete required documentation within defined timelines. • Submit monthly activity logs and quarterly subcontractor reports; maintain ≥ 93 % substantive accuracy; comply with insurance, background‑check, and data‑residency requirements.
