Special Education Teaching Services

Southwest Independent School District is seeking a vendor to provide Special Education Teaching Services. The vendor will be required to provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The vendor must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, a valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements, and knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area. The contract will be for a period of 5 years, from September 1, 2025, to May 31, 2030. • The vendor will be responsible for developing or modifying curricula and preparing lessons and other instructional materials to student ability levels. • The vendor will be required to collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEP through the ARD Committee process for each student assigned. • The vendor will be required to employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. • The vendor will be required to manage student behavior and administer discipline, including intervening in crisis situations and physically restraining students as necessary according to IEP using crisis prevention intervention techniques.
