Fivemile Hydroelectric - Phase 1 Construction

The Alaska Energy Authority is seeking bids for the construction of a pioneer road, staging areas, retaining walls, access gate, culverts, and installation of a section of penstock for the Fivemile Hydroelectric Project near Chitina, Alaska. The project involves the construction of a functional pioneer access road capable of supporting further construction and heavy-equipment access to the project area. The contractor will be responsible for evaluating available information and making an independent assessment of conditions that may affect the work. The project is expected to be completed by June 20, 2027. Some key aspects of the project include: • Construction of a pioneer road and staging areas • Installation of retaining walls and access gate • Installation of culverts and penstock • Construction of mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls • Backfilling and grading of the access road • Installation of a 24" culvert The contractor will be required to submit a bid that includes all costs necessary to complete the work as shown and specified. The bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or money order.
