Arbitrator Services

The Maryland Department of State Police is seeking proposals from qualified arbitrators to provide professional services in handling and adjusting plaintiff claims related to fulfilling a Title VII action. The selected arbitrator will work closely with the Department and their contracted claims administrator to ensure a fair and efficient arbitration process. The arbitrator's responsibilities will include analyzing agreement terms, drafting forms, establishing a procedural framework for claims evaluation, reviewing criteria and processes for identifying eligible claimants, and serving as the final decision-maker in cases where disputes arise. The contract duration is expected to be 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Key points to consider: • The arbitrator must have a Juris Doctor (JD) or relevant graduate degree and a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in arbitration, mediation, or relevant dispute resolution. • The arbitrator must have prior experience handling cases in the specific subject matter area of settlement payment eligibility. • The arbitrator must have no history of professional misconduct, suspension, or disbarment. • The arbitrator must provide reference checks and a list of previous arbitrations as supplementary documents. • The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting a responsive bid with the most favorable bid price. • The bidder must comply with all federal, state, and local laws applicable to its activities and obligations under the contract.
