Petersen Event Center Wi-Fi Survey, Design, & Install

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified contractor to conduct a full wireless network overhaul for the Petersen Events Center (PEC). The scope includes a passive/active RF site survey, detailed heat‑mapping, a Cisco‑based high‑density Wi‑Fi design (supporting Wi‑Fi 7 or at minimum Wi‑Fi 6E), a complete bill of materials, and the installation, configuration, testing, and validation of all hardware. The contractor must also provide a one‑year workmanship warranty and comply with university policies on insurance, data security, accessibility, and sustainability. • Perform passive and active RF surveys, produce current‑state heatmaps, and identify coverage gaps. • Design a future‑state Cisco wireless solution (AP models, channel plans, VLAN/SSID architecture, integration with Catalyst/DNA Center and ISE). • Deliver a detailed BOM, install all equipment, de‑commission obsolete gear, and validate performance with post‑installation surveys by September 2026.
