Labor Counsel

The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is seeking a law firm to provide labor counsel services, including defending management in grievance arbitrations, defending management in charges of unfair practices before the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board, and defending the State System in matters before the Commonwealth Court. The selected law firm will be required to have experience in negotiating public sector collective bargaining agreements. The contract will be for a term of one year, with the option to renew for up to two additional years. The law firm will be required to provide legal services and perform all tasks necessary to successfully represent the Commonwealth. • The law firm will be required to provide legal assistance in matters relating to labor negotiations, advocacy, and implementation of collective bargaining agreements with unions representing the State System's workforce. • The law firm will be required to defend management in grievance arbitrations and charges of unfair practices before the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board. • The law firm will be required to defend the State System in matters before the Commonwealth Court. • The law firm will be required to have experience in negotiating public sector collective bargaining agreements. • The contract will be for a term of one year, with the option to renew for up to two additional years.
