Eastern Kansas Healthcare System Special Mode Transportation

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide non-emergent assisted transportation services for eligible beneficiaries of the Eastern Kansas Health Care System. The contractor will provide 24/7 transportation services using wheelchair vans, stretchers, bariatric, and sedans. The services will include transportation to and from VA and non-VA medical facilities, Veteran domiciles, and other authorized locations throughout Kansas and Missouri. The contractor must meet specific requirements, including vehicle safety standards, operational and scheduling requirements, driver and attendant qualifications, patient handling and safety protocols, and performance reporting. • The contractor must provide transportation services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. • The contractor must furnish all personnel, vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to provide transportation services. • The contractor must maintain an effective quality control program and cooperate with VA monitoring. • The contractor must report accidents and incidents promptly and submit detailed invoices reconcilable to VetRide manifests.
