Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) Marine License Insurance

The Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) is seeking bids for a Marine License Insurance policy to cover its Masters, Mates, and Pilots. The policy should include Comprehensive License Defense, Basic License Defense, Loss of Income, Subsistence Allowance, Professional Equipment, and Instruments. The contract will be for a period of one year, with the option to renew for four additional one-year terms. The successful bidder will be required to provide coverage for 79 AMHS employees. • The bidder must have an A.M. Best Financial Strength Rating (FSR) of B+ or above. • The bidder must have experience providing Marine License Insurance in the United States within the last five years. • The bidder must provide a copy of their current State insurance license or proof of representation by an Alaska-licensed insurance agent. • The bidder must agree to provide coverage to AMHS-employed deck officers as outlined in the ITB. • The bidder must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Equal Employment Opportunity Act.
