Description

The Colonial School District is seeking proposals for supplemental school psychological services. The selected vendor will provide a full-time equivalent psychologist to work 35 hours per week during the regular school year, starting August 4, 2025. The psychologist will provide services to students under IDEA, collaborating within a transdisciplinary team and supporting students aged 3–21 across a wide spectrum of disabilities. The services include comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, individual and group therapy, consultation, and report preparation. The vendor must submit a budget, including the cost for services and the optimal number of students that the vendor has the capacity to serve for the district. The award will be made to the responsible vendor whose proposal is most advantageous to the school district, taking into consideration the evaluation factors set forth in the RFP. Some key points to consider: • The psychologist must have evidence of a criminal background check and a State of Delaware License – School Psychology. • The psychologist must be proficient in technology, including the use of Q-Interactive. • The vendor must be able to supply psychologists by August 4, 2025. • The contract period is from August 4, 2025, to August 3, 2028, with an option to renew under the same terms and conditions for subsequent full years. • The district reserves the right to award this contract to more than one vendor. • The vendor must provide a certificate of insurance to substantiate general liability and professional liability insurance in the minimum amount of $1,000,000. • The district may terminate this contract at any time with a 30-day written notice.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this contract can be estimated based on the hourly rate for the psychologist services. Assuming an average hourly rate of $100, and considering the psychologist will work 35 hours per week for 40 weeks (a typical school year), the total budget for one school year would be around $140,000. However, the actual budget may vary depending on the number of students served, the specific services provided, and the vendor's administrative costs. The district may also award the contract to multiple vendors, which could affect the total budget. Therefore, the estimated budget range for this contract is between $100,000 and $500,000 per year, depending on the specifics of the contract and the services provided.
