Third Party Administrator for Douglas County Workers' Compensation

The Douglas County Purchasing Department is seeking a qualified vendor to provide Third Party Administrator (TPA) services for the Douglas County Workers’ Compensation Claims processing. The vendor will be responsible for managing the County's on-the-job injuries, working closely with the managed care nurse manager, and ensuring that injured employees receive the necessary medical care and return to work as soon as possible. The vendor must have experience in claims management, medical management, and litigation management, and must be able to provide a customized comprehensive program to meet the County's needs. The contract will be for a period of three years, with the option to extend for an additional two one-year terms. Some key aspects of the job include: • Providing claims management services, including initial processing and investigation of claims, ongoing contact with injured workers and employers, and coordination of medical care. • Implementing a transition and implementation plan to ensure continuity of service for existing and new claims. • Providing periodic claim or service meetings, narrative claim reports, and on-line access to adjuster notes. • Ensuring compliance with workers' compensation excess carrier insurance policy and relevant laws and regulations.
