Maintenance, Repair and Preservation of IX-551

The U.S. Navy’s Regional Maintenance Center at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is seeking a contractor to perform comprehensive maintenance, repair, and preservation services on the IX‑551 vessel, a 260‑ft steel hull ship located in the Puget Sound, WA region. The work includes docking, exterior washing, blasting, hull preservation, tank cleaning and testing, installation of new zinc anodes, non‑skid deck treatment, and final inspection before the vessel is returned to the government. The contract will be awarded on a firm‑fixed‑price basis and the ship must be ready for pickup on or after 1 April 2027. • Complete exterior and underwater hull cleaning, blasting, and preservation. • Perform tank cleaning, ventilation, gas‑freeing, and partial preservation of 24 tanks. • Install new zinc anodes, non‑skid systems, and replace manhole gaskets; provide final visual inspections and coordinate delivery back to the government.
