Description

The Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is seeking information from vendors that can provide an AI‑enabled video analytics and camera security platform for approximately 2,000 internal and external security cameras across the district. The solution must operate entirely within CCPS‑controlled infrastructure—no vendor‑hosted cloud services for video storage, AI processing, analytics, or system operation are permitted. The RFI is exploratory; CCPS is not yet committing to a formal RFP but wants to evaluate capabilities, architecture, data‑privacy controls, and integration approaches for an on‑premises AI surveillance system that enhances situational awareness, safety monitoring, and operational security in schools. • Required on‑premises AI video analytics for ~2,000 cameras • No cloud‑based storage or processing – all data must remain district‑controlled • Emphasis on data security, privacy, and local decision‑making • Vendors must submit a sealed physical bid (original + USB copy); electronic submissions are not accepted • Submission deadline: September 15 2026, 2 PM EST • Primary contact: Carletta Grier, Procurement Officer/Buyer

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

Based on comparable school‑district security technology contracts, a district‑wide AI video‑analytics solution for ~2,000 cameras typically ranges from $0.5 million to $2 million. The lower end assumes a basic analytics engine with minimal integration, while the higher end reflects advanced AI models, extensive on‑site hardware, licensing, training, and long‑term support. Factors influencing the final amount include the depth of AI capabilities, hardware procurement costs, integration complexity, and the length of maintenance contracts.
