Building Dementia Capable Communities (BDCC)

The Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW) is issuing an RFP to engage qualified agencies or organizations to develop and implement the Building Dementia‑Capable Communities (BDCC) program across the Tri‑County region (Pend Oreille, Stevens, Northern Ferry) and Whitman County. The effort focuses on strengthening support networks for people living with dementia and their caregivers through community‑level services, education, training, partnership development, and public‑awareness campaigns. Successful contractors will design and deliver a coordinated set of activities that build sustainable dementia‑friendly infrastructure in rural Eastern Washington. • Develop a strategic plan and implementation roadmap for dementia‑capable community services. • Provide training curricula and workshops for caregivers, health‑care providers, and local stakeholders. • Create outreach and public‑awareness materials, toolkits, and best‑practice guides tailored to rural settings. • Coordinate with existing rural health and social‑service entities to integrate dementia support into broader community health initiatives.
