Waste Management

The Northville Public Schools is seeking a waste management and recycling contractor to provide comprehensive, reliable, and environmentally responsible trash removal and commingled (single-stream) recycling services for its 13 schools and administrative buildings. The selected vendor will be responsible for collecting, transporting, and disposing of solid waste and commingled recycling, as well as providing educational support to promote proper recycling habits. The contract term is for three years, with the option for the district to adjust the size, number of containers, frequency of pickups, and number of locations during the term of the agreement. Key responsibilities include: • Collecting standard municipal solid waste from front-load and/or roll-off containers • Sanitizing and maintaining all containers • Collecting commingled recycling, including clean cardboard, paper, aluminum/tin cans, and plastics #1, #2, and #5 • Providing clearly labeled recycling dumpsters with locking mechanisms or restrictive lids • Providing educational posters or labels for classrooms/cafeterias to promote proper recycling habits • Adjusting services during the summer term to reflect minimal building usage • Complying with local municipal noise ordinances and safety constraints.
