The University of California, Los Angeles is seeking an Executive Architect to design and oversee the retrofit of fire sprinkler systems on the 5th and 6th floors of the Center for Health Sciences, School of Medicine East building. The scope includes demolition of existing ceiling, installation of new fire‑sprinkler main supply lines, new acoustical ceiling, LED lighting, mechanical diffusers, and integration of existing ceiling devices. The project totals approximately 10,666 gsf and has an estimated construction cost of $3‑4 million. The selected firm will provide architectural design, coordination, and construction administration services, complying with UC sustainability policies. • Install new fire‑sprinkler main supply lines and heads in public corridors, with connection points every 20 ft. • Remove existing ceiling, lower ceiling plane, and install a new single‑span acoustical ceiling system. • Provide new recessed LED lighting, mechanical diffusers, and extend all ceiling devices and ducts to the new ceiling plane. • Ensure compliance with University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices and any applicable building codes. • Deliver all design documents and construction administration through the UCLA Planroom system by the November 16, 2026 deadline.
