ITB 2027-020 City Hall Fire Escape Lead Paint Removal and Painting

The City of Salem is seeking a contractor to safely remove existing lead‑based paint from the exterior steel fire escapes, doors, and trim on both the north and south sides of City Hall, then prime and repaint the surfaces. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, equipment, containment, testing, transportation, and waste disposal in compliance with federal, state, and local lead‑paint regulations. Repairs to broken steps will be performed by others; the contractor must coordinate sequencing and remobilization as described. • Remove lead‑based paint from steel fire escapes, doors, and trim. • Prepare metal to bare metal and wood to a sound surface, then apply one coat of primer and two coats of exterior paint. • Supply all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, containment, testing, transport, and hazardous waste disposal in accordance with lead‑paint requirements. • Coordinate work sequencing with other parties that will repair broken steps after paint removal.
