The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a General Contractor to construct a 28,000 square foot recreation center in Palm Harbor. The new recreation center will replace an existing building and provide additional recreational programming space, as well as serve as an at-risk shelter during hurricane evacuations. The contractor will be required to provide a schedule of values and tentative schedule based on the construction documents and specifications provided. Key features of the project include: • Construction of a 28,000 square foot recreation center • Replacement of an existing building • Provision of additional recreational programming space • Service as an at-risk shelter during hurricane evacuations • Compliance with American Red Cross (ARC) 4496 standards • Backup generation and well capability • Ability to provide 800 shelter spaces for general populations during a storm • Utilization as a step-down shelter post-event for 115 people
