City of Fernley Water Treatment Plant Expansion and Improvements for Surface Water Treatment

The City of Fernley is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified firms or individuals to provide professional engineering design services for the expansion of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Fernley, Nevada. The project includes plant modifications, site improvements, and electrical services for instrumentation and control. The selected consultant will be responsible for developing complete design documents, supporting regulatory compliance and permitting, and bidding and construction. The project's primary goal is to extract water from the Truckee River Canal, treat it, and integrate it into the city's existing potable water system. Some key tasks include: • Plant modifications, including carbon dioxide system, PFAS removal, taste and odor control mechanisms • Site improvements to add Solids drying ponds and dewatering, presedimentation basins, reservoir overflow channel • Modifications to raw water piping and electrical services for instrumentation and control, including SCADA system integration The City seeks a consultant with expertise in water treatment design, presedimentation ponds, municipal water treatment infrastructure, and advising on operating and maintenance.
