LARGE DIAMETER CONCRETE & METALLIC PIPELINE INSPECTION SERVICES

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking to pre‑qualify firms that can provide on‑call, non‑destructive inspection services for its large‑diameter water‑delivery pipelines (both concrete and metallic). The work is divided into five technical categories ranging from rapid internal assessments of non‑PCCP pipelines to comprehensive de‑watered inspections of PCCP lines, as well as external (non‑intrusive) assessments. Qualified respondents must demonstrate at least three years of recent experience with the specific inspection tools and have been in business for a minimum of five years. Deliverables include detailed inspection reports, GIS‑compatible data, risk analyses, and engineering recommendations, all to be signed by a California‑licensed civil engineer. The contract will be a three‑year on‑call agreement with the possibility of annual extensions, and firms must be able to mobilize 24‑hour on‑call capability and provide slope‑access personnel for steep terrain. • Five distinct service categories (rapid/comprehensive for non‑PCCP and PCCP, plus external assessments). • Minimum qualifications: ≥3 years recent experience with the tool, ≥5 years business existence. • Required deliverables: final inspection reports, raw data, GIS maps, risk/remaining‑life calculations, signed by a licensed engineer. • Contract length: three years, on‑call basis, with annual extensions possible. • Mandatory compliance items: insurance, PLA (Project Labor Agreement), S/DVBE reporting, generative‑AI disclosure, and adherence to MWD’s Contractor Code of Conduct.
