Transit Life Insurance

The City of St. Joseph, Missouri is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to furnish Life/AD&D Insurance for the employees and retirees of St. Joseph Transit, Inc. The insurance plan should provide coverage for regular full-time employees, retirees, and early retirees, with specific benefit amounts stipulated by the labor agreement. The City prefers policies with a "Best's" Rating of A- or above. Proposers must provide a three-year rate guarantee, describe account management services, and include a sample contract. The evaluation criteria include rates, multiple year rate guarantee, contract provisions, financial rating, and references. • The City is looking for a "No loss/No gain" situation whereby no one will be penalized because of a change in carriers. • The labor agreement requires specific benefit amounts for union employees. • Non-union employees have the same coverage as union employees. • The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or to waive technical defects as it may deem desirable.
