Description
The City of Asheville is seeking a qualified contractor to perform a comprehensive hard‑scape rehabilitation in historic Biltmore Village. The work includes removal, reuse, and reinstall of historic brick sidewalks, installation of concrete paver bases, granite curb resetting, crosswalk repainting, tree removal and re‑planting, and related grading, erosion control, and utility‑lid adjustments. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive pre‑qualified bidder under a sealed‑bid process.
• Historic brick sidewalk removal, reuse, and reconstruction to preservation standards.
• Installation of new concrete sub‑slabs, granite curbs, brick curb ramps, and crosswalk markings.
• Tree removal (≈26 trees) and planting of new species, plus associated site grading and erosion control.
• Required 5 % bid security, 100 % performance/payment bonds, and compliance with PROWAG/ADA standards.
• Only three pre‑qualified firms (Tennoca Construction, Blum Masonry, Buchanan & Sons) may submit.
