Public Transit Services

The City of Farmington is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide public transit operations services, using City-owned buses, within the City limits of Farmington, New Mexico and surrounding communities in San Juan County. The services include both fixed-route and a complimentary paratransit service (Dial-A-Ride). The successful Offeror will be responsible for providing an adequate facility in the city of Farmington for housing of the required on-site administrative/operations staff, overseeing the operation of the services, and ensuring that all drivers meet the minimum requirements. The City reserves the right to modify the scope of services during the term of the contract as operational needs evolve or as additional transit services are developed. Some key points to consider: • The Contractor shall provide fixed-route and demand-response transit services and may implement additional service models. • The Contractor shall oversee the operation of the services using a full-time, on-site General Manager with bus transit experience. • The Contractor shall maintain a telephone system dedicated exclusively to the reception of incoming calls from patrons requesting the Dial A Ride (DAR) service. • The Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that drivers display appropriate identification (id card or name tag) on their uniforms. • The Contractor shall be responsible for providing for customer comfort by keeping the vehicle interior at comfortable temperatures at all times.
