Description
The Maryland State Department of Education is seeking a qualified consultant to operate its Hearing Aid and Language & Communication Video Loan Bank. The consultant will manage loan requests, maintain inventory, provide video resources, coordinate with families and audiologists, conduct outreach, and prepare annual reports. The position is part‑time (≈8 hours/week) for a one‑year term, with an estimated total contract value of $29,700.
• Provides hearing‑aid loans to eligible children (0‑21 years) with documented hearing loss.
• Processes video‑resource requests and distributes unbiased communication‑option information.
• Maintains inventory, purchases new technology, and monitors loaned devices.
• Collaborates with the Division of Special Education on outreach and public‑awareness activities.
• Prepares annual loan‑bank reports and represents the program at conferences/events.
• Requires a Maryland (or comparable) audiology license, ≥5 years relevant experience, and a master’s or doctoral degree in audiology.
