Description

The University of New Mexico’s ARID Institute is seeking a consultant to provide end‑to‑end methane‑emission detection and modeling services for the San Juan and Permian basins in New Mexico. The effort will span one year (July 2026 – June 2027) and includes UAV hardware/software provision, satellite data monitoring, identification of both large and small methane sources, development of plume‑flux models, validation methods, and delivery of data‑visualization tools. • Provide UAV‑based remote‑sensing hardware and software to capture methane plume data. • Monitor and analyze satellite and other remote‑sensing sources to locate major and minor methane leaks (including wells emitting < 10 kg/day). • Develop and validate quantitative models of plume size, concentration, and flux; create visual‑analytics interfaces for UNM.
