Description
The City of Thornton is seeking a vendor to supply and install Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) mounting systems on its police‑service fleet. The contract covers the provision of Havis docking stations (model DS‑PAN435N‑2), Gamber‑Johnson slide arms, Parsec Border Collie antennas, all necessary fasteners and materials, and the complete removal of existing Zebra MDT hardware. Work will be performed at the Thornton Police Department headquarters (indoor sally‑port area) with possible secondary sites at a nearby outdoor area and the Fossil Ridge Public Safety Center. The vendor must meet strict throughput requirements (minimum 5 vehicles per day, up to 12‑15 per day) and complete each vehicle’s installation and acceptance testing on the same day. The solicitation requires demonstrated experience installing MDT systems in at least 100 law‑enforcement vehicles and that the lead installer have ≥ 5 years experience; the vendor must also be an authorized Havis reseller. The award will be based on the lowest‑priced responsive and responsible bid.
• Supply of complete MDT mounting kits (docking station, slide arm, antenna, hardware) per vehicle.
• Removal of existing MDT equipment and installation of new hardware on 41 Ford SUV Interceptor vehicles in Phase 1 (Oct 2026) and up to ~70 additional vehicles in Phase 2 (Mar 2027).
• On‑site installation, testing, and acceptance sign‑off for each vehicle; daily throughput minimum 5 vehicles, maximum 12‑15.
• Vendor must provide warranties (3‑year hardware, 1‑year labor) and meet “special responsibility” criteria (experience, reseller status, lead‑installer expertise).
